My name is Tony DeGonia and I want to help you make your business even better than it currently is. I have been in Technology for over 20 years and I find that while technology skills are in high demand those can be taught and learned. What I bring to the table are not only technology skills in multiple domains but also customer facing soft skills that have been honed and refined over time. I have worked in both operations and sales over my career and while often there is a divide in personalities and opinions the common goal is customer satisfaction.
I believe in bridging the divide to bring together in sales and operations to the benefit of our clients. Building rapport and becoming a “trusted advisor” to my clients is the top priority when working as a sales engineer. Those skills are what I depend on to deliver a high rate of success.
Currently I have about an 80% close ratio on deals that I become involved with and last year with WatchGuard I achieved 104% of plan on a $6.3MM quota across revenue streams. I architected security solutions utilizing WatchGuard’s UTM Platform for more than 40 clients. I held 15+ trainings for customers and partners throughout my territory. I launched a boot camp series for my region which had not been done in over 5 years. I created a training series to take new users of WatchGuard’s products from the basic understanding of their products and services to deep dive training on the WatchGuard Product Set to help prepare partners and customers for the certification exams and advanced deployment scenarios. During my time a WatchGuard I deployed 22 Proofs of Concept and all but 2 resulted in closing deals. Those 22 deals resulted in over $2MM in revenue.
I have a complete understanding of both the sales process and an in depth understanding the operations process. I have built multiple managed services IT organizations as well as the correlating sales organizations.
I am well versed in public speaking, having spoken to crowds of technologists of more than 200+ people. I have an open invitation to speak at the MSP Alliances Annual MSP World Conference and was named a technology “thought leader” by the President of the MSP Alliance.
Finally, I am a lifetime learner and believe that to be great at what you do you can never stop learning. I believe that the absolute worst thing for anyone’s career is to become stagnant and complacent. In 2017 I have taken on the following courses and am in the process of earning the following certifications. Not just to learn new technologies but also to quantify knowledge I already possess. In 2018 my goal is to earn the coveted CISSP certification along with another security certification which I have not yet decided on.
