Let me start by saying … I love music. Not just some music but I think that all music adds value to this world. I came up when rap music was first coming out. Break dancing was all the rage. Now I know that not everyone will agree with me about the music and that’s okay. I still like all music.

I Love Music

From classical, to rock, to country, to heavy metal to hip-hop and R&B. I just really have a special place in my heart for rap. Partly because I always wanted to know how to rap. I even went so far as to take rapping lessons from one of my friends in the Army who was a very good rapper. It just never stuck. I would say that I am just too much of a white boy but that would not work now would it. Especially since a number of the industry’s top rappers are of Caucasian ethnicity. There is one rapper that I have taken a strong liking too.

NF - MotivatedNathan John Feuerstein AKA “NF”

One of my favorite songs by NF is entitled “Motivated” so I found it only fitting to add it to this list. You see in order to do anything in life you have to be… “MOTIVATED”…
Here are a couple of verses that strike home with me the most, mainly because they are aggressive and hard hitting. They are what I would call #BEASTMODE. Very fitting since I live a #BEASTMODELIFE.

Here is a little info about Nate.

Nathan John Feuerstein, professionally known as NF, is an American rapper, singer and songwriter.

Song: Motivated

Listen, I’m Hulk, I transform and I smash rappers
You sipping on syrup, that doesn’t mean you a sick rapper
See what it means is you gon’ probably get sick after
You don’t like that I’m blunt, or is it the fact that I smoke passion?

Take your best shot
Take your best shot
Take your best shot
I ain’t going nowhere, nowhere

Ah, I’m motivated (motivated)
Motivated (motivated)
Motivated (motivated)
Motivated, ah

Ah, I’m motivated (motivated)
Motivated (motivated)
Motivated (motivated)
Motivated, ah

I dig holes for these tracks, and then I slaughter and bury ’em
The motivation I got is on a whole different level
I treat these lines like court case, I don’t wanna settle
My lyrics are like bullets and they’re aiming at you
And I ain’t talking Switchfoot when I dare you to move

Take your best shot
Take your best shot
Take your best shot
I ain’t going nowhere, nowhere

Ah, I’m motivated (motivated)
Motivated (motivated)
Motivated (motivated)
Motivated, ah

Ah, I’m motivated (motivated)
Motivated (motivated)
Motivated (motivated)
Motivated, ah

And when it comes to punches, you know I’m a land mine
No I said I’m a land mine
Don’t step on me, or you get blown sky high

Spotify… Keeps me motivated

I love this song, whenever I used to drive or fly anywhere for a meeting I would have this song queued up on Spotify, so I could listen to it before I go into any meetings. Understand that I grew up as an athlete. I was always competitive from about 7 years old until today. I still carry a ton of competitiveness in me and this helps spark the competitive juices.

Competitiveness

What does competitiveness have to do with building a network on LinkedIn. Nothing really. But, it has a lot to do with what you do with that network. Once you build a network of people, you can’t just walk away. You have created a stage for yourself. A venue if you will. This is where you can get your greatest dreams accomplished. Now don’t get me wrong, your network is not just a bunch of unwitting accomplices. You can’t will them to make you rich or do your dirty work. What they will do is help you bring to fruition the greatest deeds of altruism you could ever imagine. If you need help, they will go above and beyond your wildest imagination to help you. I know, that is what they have done for me.

Show them your Motivation

Respect your network. Participate with them just they you want them to participate with you. Most of all do not leave them out of your motivation. Motivation is what brings your network together and give you a common goal, a common mindset, a common heart.
Remember. Request new connections, like everything you can, respond to everyone who posts and accept every connection request that comes your way. That is how you build a network.

ASSIGNMENT

Make a post that tells your connections about your motivation. Be altruistic, honest, transparent and all the other things I have talked about so far in this series. When people respond like their response and respond to them. It’s like a conversation. It’s a two-way street. Happy connecting and we will see you soon.
