Prayer for Job Seekers

Hey everyone,

I have started a new LinkedIn Group called Prayer for Job Seekers. This is for anyone who would like a prayer for their job search or to offer a prayer for someone who is in the middle of a job search. Hiring Managers, Recruiters, Talent Acquisition Professionals, and HR Professionals are invited to post and leave a link to your job postings if you would like. You don’t have to be a believer in Christianity, though I am. Any religion, any job market, and country. This place is simply for those who want a prayer for success in their job search.

I and many others believe deeply in the scripture:

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. …

Matthew 7:7-8

God has plans for you and you can’t often see them until after you are well into the process:

For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

God is Good. All the time. While it may not make sense right now, he is preparing your for your next steps:

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Romans 8:28

You may be in a situation that seems like desperation. Do not depair but be patient and wait on the Lord. That doesn’t mean you should just sit back and wait on God and do nothing. You should continue to work and discover God’s will and that is where you will find his blessing:

I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord.”

Psalm 27:13, 14

Do what you have to do. Trust in God for He gives strength to the weary and makes the weak powerful. Those who are faitful and wait in the Lord will fly high above all others, they will endure, they will succeed with God’s Blessing and not get weary:

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”

Isaiah 40:28-31

Do not stress about everything, but trust in God’s timing and righteousness:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

Concentrate on doing good:

Galatians 6:9 “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.”

Galatians 6:9

Not only should you not be afraid but be courageous:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

Keep going! Don’t stop, you don’t have to understand why or how, just know and understand that God has your back:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

Finally the understanding you should take from this and from your job search is simple. If you want God to bless your search do this:

Matthew 18:19-20 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

These are what we in Christianity call Biblical truths. You can’t count on much is life, but you can count on what one thing. God is in control, God does not lie, and God loves you.

Thank you so much for reading and I will talk to you soon.

Very Best,
