No particular reason is given, just a link to a page with a bunch of rules that mean nothing to a user who doesn’t break the rules.
To someone who is deep in a job search LinkedIn is a lifeline, a staple that you can’t afford to lose. You apply for jobs, you reach out to recruiters, send inMails. Whatever is takes to get that coveted interview. Then one day after a long night of applying (cause applying at night and checking status in the morning works best for me) and all of a sudden you get a “your account is restricted page”… No explanation, no human interaction.
I send emails everyday to customer service with no response. I have tried uploading every form of ID they ask for and they will only let me upload 1 form. Frustration is beyond set it. I have 100’s of hours of work into LinkedIn and my profile to have a profile that would be picked up on by recruiters, one that was easy to search and a profile that will get you a job. Now some pissant wannabe nobody, has taken it on themselves to decide that I have somehow broken the rules and that I don’t deserve to use their platform. The bad part is that they are tooooooo damn cowardly to talk to me long enough to find out the truth.
LinkedIn is the Socialist Republic of LinkedIn not the democracy that they enjoy to be able to make a fortune off of us schmucks who think we need their platform. Nazism is alive and well there in that you are GUILTY before even being charged with a crime.
Do you think my article is too strongly worded. Well I am pissed off. I don’t take well to being silenced for something accusation that 1. I don’t know what I am accused of and 2. I am confident I didn’t do and 3. If for some reason I did do something against the rules, I assure you it was an accident completely out of ignorance. However, there is no forgiveness in LinkedIn Land… So hopefully someone over there will get wind of this and decide having myself as a ticked off ex-member is not good for business and will fix the issue. Any way, rant over, thanks for reading, leave a comment if you like and we will see you next time.
