AT&T Cybersecurity TechSegment

At AT&T, I was not just a member, but one of the four Cybersecurity Sales Engineers hand-picked to spearhead the launch of the new and updated Public Sector Team for AT&T Business. My previous experience with AT&T Cybersecurity, where I supported the Healthcare and Public Sector in the Southeastern US, was instrumental in this endeavor. To bolster the efforts of our frontline Technical Sales Consultants (SEs), I conducted a bi-weekly training session called The Cybersecurity TechSegment. When I was chosen to transition to the Public Sector exclusively, I initiated a support system for the frontline TSCs and a direct sales team known as the Public Sector Center for Cybersecurity Excellence or PSCCE.

The PSCCE consisted of the 4 Cybersecurity TSCs and the Overlay Application Sales Executives who put together training for the direct sales teams all across the United States. We primarily catered to technical sellers such as TSCs and Solution Architects, but the calls were open to anyone in the Public Sector. We had three primary goals with these training sessions:

  1. Expand on the Very Basic training that AT&T Corporate requires each employee to take.
  2. Ensure that all the sales teams and technical sellers are conversant in cybersecurity.
  3. Train the Technical Sellers in a no-marketing-fluff environment where they can learn the nuts and bolts of products.

Another crucial aspect of the PSCCE was the internal website we maintained for the Public Sector teams. This comprehensive resource contained product pages with detailed descriptions, sales processes, deployment processes, and best practices, surpassing what AT&T Corporate provided to the sales teams. This wealth of information was a game-changer for the teams, empowering them with knowledge that was previously lacking from the corporate sales pages. I took pride in maintaining this valuable asset for the teams in Microsoft Sharepoint.

Below are a few episodes of the Cybersecurity TechSegment for you to watch. I have saved several of these episodes; however, I only feel comfortable sharing a few episodes at this time. Please enjoy.

Conclusion.

The Cybersecurity TechSegment sessions were extremely popular. Once they gained popularity, we had up to 120 viewers per live session and hundreds of viewers who visited the PSCCE website to view the recordings on a monthly basis.
