Alert Logic MDR Competitive Guide

Authored a detailed comparative guide for Alert Logic’s Managed Detection & Response (MDR) service, mapping out strengths and differences versus competitors like Arctic Wolf, IBM, and Azure Sentinel. The guide balanced deep technical nuance with sales-friendly language to equip AEs with battle-tested talking points. It became instrumental in enabling technical sellers to win key deals.

During my time at Alert Logic, shortly after the acquisition by Help Systems, just as they were rebranding to Fortra, I was tasked with creating a series of competitive documents for sales enablement. These guides were more detailed and technical than a battle card.

The guides were supposed to be technical, but easy to read. Attractive with the use of graphics instead of too many words for showing the competitive differences. I was slated to build these competitive guides for the following:

  • Arctic Wolf
  • AT&T Cybersecurity (AlienVault USM Anywhere)
  • IBM QRadar
  • eSentire
  • LogRhythm
  •  Microsoft Azure Sentinel
Honestly, I found that most of the competitors were much more feature rich as far as the monitoring platform, but in the end few offered the level of robust SOC services that Alert Logic did. So while their platform was not as strong, the white glove service was on-par or exceeded the competitors.

Competitive Battle Cards

Conclusion.

The competitive guide for Arctic Wolf was the best producer as it was used go close approximately $250,000 in annual recurring revenue within the first 30 days.
